Frequently Asked Questions

General FAQ's

What are Tokens?

Tokens are the currency within FireFan and are needed to play the game. Upon downloading FireFan for the first time, new players are awarded tokens for play. Each activity in the app will have a different value of Tokens needed. When your Tokens run out, you can participate with advertisements in our app to earn additional tokens, earn achievements to gain additonal tokens, rank up to gain additional tokens, redeem tickets in our rewards store for additional tokens or you can purchase additional Tokens to continue playing.

What are Points?

Points are earned as you play FireFan. They have no currency value within the app. Each game you play in FireFan has a Point value tied to the questions asked during a game. Each question you answer correctly gives you the Point value assigned to the question. The more games you play, and the more questions you answer correctly, the more Points you can earn. The Points you accumulate help you to rank up in the game, which reward you with more Tickets and/or Tokens.

What are Tickets?

Tickets are the means to redeem rewards in the FireFan Pro Shop. Each reward in the Pro Shop is assigned a Ticket value. The more you play FireFan, the more tickets you accumulate, and the more rewards you can redeem.

How do you earn Tickets?

You earn tickets in FireFan when you enter games and when you rank up. For live games, 1 Token = 1 Ticket when you join a game. Example: If you join a 6 token game, you’ll be rewarded with 6 tickets.

How do you earn Points and rank up?

Each pick you make in FireFan has a Point value tied to it. The more correct picks you make, the more Points you earn. The more Points you earn, the faster you rank up. Each time you rank up in FireFan we reward you with Tickets and/or Tokens. It's simple! The more games you play, the more Tickets and Points you can earn and the more rewards you can redeem.

What are Rewards?

Rewards are the items in the Pro Shop you can receive by redeeming your earned Tickets. Rewards include sporting goods, electronics, gift cards, vacation packages and more! Every Reward has an assigned number of Tickets for redemption. You can view the rewards in the FireFan Pro Shop by clicking on the ticket icon on your FireFan home page, OR by clicking on the menu in the upper, right-hand corner and clicking on Pro Shop.

Why is there a lag in my game feed?

While playing the game during live events, it is best to ensure a fast connection speed for a better experience. If possible, being on WiFi with a good connection is recommended. If not possible, find a location where your wireless carrier has the strongest signal.

Why can’t I make live picks?

Time is critical when it comes to making live picks. If your phone is even one minute ahead of the accurate local time, you might not have as much time to make live picks as your friends. Sometimes in this case, you may not be able to make live picks at all. It is very important that your phone is synced with satellite time, which is the most accurate time for your phone. To sync your phone with satellite time:

For Android users, go to the phone Settings > Date & Time > Automatic Date & Time > Automatic Time Zone (or Network Provided Time, Satellite Time, etc).

For iPhone users, go to the phone Settings > General > Date & Time > Set Automatically.

Why does the text fall off the page?

Some phones allow you to increase the size of text on your phone. This may also increase the size of the icons shown on your phone. If these features are turned on, FireFan will appear to be “broken” as the larger sized icons will not fit on your phone’s screen. If this is the case, some of the scores might be cut off, or other things might look strange due to the sizing. It is best to turn off large text/icon settings when using FireFan.
